On Wednesday, August 12, 2009 a delegation from Chapter 65 NARFE met with a representative of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office to present information about NARFE issues, and to urge her continued support for the protection of benefits for federal employees and annuitants. Jerry, Martha, Fran, and Herman discussed 6 key issues with Mark Herbert, a field representative for Speaker Pelosi. Herbert was receptive, and interested in our presentation, which included 3 annuitant and 3 active employee issues. We left an application form with Mark, and urged him to join our organization. August is the designated NARFE "Grass Roots Advocacy Month", and San Francisco Chapter 65 was proud to be able to represent our members.
